DeVetter Design Group worked with the Cromwell Wright School District to develop concepts for a new gymnasium with a fitness center and a Career Technical Education addition. The gymnasium is intended to be used for physical education and community use programs. It will contain one full basketball court and a five-lane running/walking track that can be used by the community. The addition is located on the east side of the school adjacent to the main parking lot. This location allows it to be easily separated from the rest of the school so that it can be used by the community on nights and week ends and possibly at specific times during the school day. The location of the addition ensures it will be both a school and community resource.

The expansion of the Career Technical Education space will also occur on the east side. I will be connected to the main lobby of the addition to encourage public – private collaboration. The main addition will double the size of the existing woods and metal shop and create windows between the computer lab on the second level and the main CTE floor below. This will encourage interdisciplinary connections and make supervision of the tech areas easier.
