The residence is designed for a retired professional soccer player and his fiancée on family land across the Sea of Marmara from Istanbul, Turkey. The owner spends part of his time in the United States, where he coaches soccer, and part of his time in Turkey with family.

The property is located between the Marmara Sea and the Sultan Mountain Range. The home is a three-story vertical house, which allows its private upper portions to make the connection to both sea and mountains. The decks on the upper levels create private exterior space for the family. The lower level is kept open for large extended family gatherings. In time, this project will be one of four homes joined together to form a family compound encircling a central courtyard.
